Using two different phone numbers on Whatsapp is becoming possible.
You will soon be able to use two separate accounts on Whatsapp. With the update, you can send and receive messages from two different phone numbers in the same application.
This is useful, for example, if the user has separate work and personal numbers on the same phone.
Naturally, enabling the feature requires two phone numbers on the same device. Again, it requires a phone with support for two SIM cards. Two sim cards can also be used with an esim card.
Whatsapp announced the feature on October 19, and should be arriving for all app users before long. To check if the feature has arrived on your device, follow the instructions below.
Android
Open the dot menu in the upper right corner of the Whatsapp application and select Settings. After that, press your own name at the top of the settings menu.
A small arrow should appear next to your name, which you can press to add a parallel phone number.
If the arrow is not visible, you can try updating the application via the Play Store. If the update doesn’t help, the feature hasn’t arrived on your device yet.
IOS
Press the You button in the lower right corner of the Whatsapp application.
There should be a small arrow next to your name at the top of the menu that opens, press it to add a parallel phone number.
If the arrow is not visible, you can try updating the application via the App Store. If the update doesn’t help, the feature hasn’t arrived on your device yet.
New features are rolled out gradually, so it may take up to weeks for features to be updated for all users.
