Van Quickenborne is skeptical. “Our country must respect human rights treaties. The European Convention on Human Rights, among others, explicitly states that incitement to hatred, violence and discrimination must be prosecuted. You cannot shop around in them. This international legislation was drawn up after the Second World War “First it was hatred towards the Jews with the Star of David, then they were discriminated against, finally it led to violence and the Holocaust.
