The Palanders’ million-dollar villa in France is still for sale.

A buyer has still not been found for Kalle Palander’s million-dollar villa in France.

Iltalehti reported in the summer of 2021 that a house worth 1,075,000 euros in the French Provence has been put up for sale.

According to Palander, the time has seemed “long as hell”. The sports star and his wife Riina-Maija Palander have no use for a luxury house.

– I have dropped the price a little so that I could get rid of it, Kalle Palander says.

– Before that war fuss in France, those big and expensive rooms still moved quite well. Now it’s quieted down a bit – like everywhere else.

The couple also owns a home in Spain. A cozy detached house in Tornio, on the other hand, was sold a couple of years ago for 608,000 euros.

Palander says that his financial situation is now “just fine” after he has sold his property in Finland.

– I don’t have anything in Finland anymore. I’ve gotten rid of everything, he announces.

– The cost structure is significantly lighter than before, when there is no damn big and expensive house to keep in Tornio and so on. Yes, this makes it a little easier.

Money from Ontika

The palanders’ hotel business at the Ontika manor in Estonia has started up again.

The activity, which was in the teeth of the taxman, was on hiatus for two years when the couple lived in Spain. During that time, Ontika’s manor house was only rented out for business events.

The Palanders spent the summer in Estonia enhancing the manor’s furnishings.

– We spent the whole summer fixing the systems there again. It was quite a work site. There is so much land.

According to the ex-alpine skier, the Ontika business is now completely under the care of his wife.

Palander himself still works in the ski business and as a salesman for Snow Secure, a company specializing in snow storage. In addition, he continues as Yle’s TV expert.

– Now that snow storage is on everyone’s lips, it has been quite a lot of work. First a weekend in Levi and then in Ruka. I came from there late last night. It’s quite busy, he says at Yle’s media conference.
