‘John de Mol throws out Peter Gillis’

It seems that Peter Gillis’ days as channel star of SBS 6 are numbered after all. According to Talpa insider Johan Derksen, John de Mol will still break with him. “He bounces in his chair.”

As one of the most important faces of Talpa, Johan Derksen is close to the management fire. Although Peter Gillis has been spared quite a bit by the top so far, sentiment seems to be turning around. John de Mol seems to want to show at all costs that he gives Peter the same treatment as Johnny, but how long can that be sustainable?

Wrong stuff

While the complaint against Johnny was very much of a one-on-one nature, Peter has so much misery hanging over him that waiting for a lawsuit is actually not necessary to conclude that he is in the wrong.

Wilfred Genee brings up yet another bad Gillis news yesterday Today Inside: “Peter Gillis has lost another permit, now in Baarlo at his holiday park. Of course, we won’t get to see that in that real-life soap if it were to come back, but then we know for a moment that it is the case.”

Not real life

Johan Derksen thinks that is strange. “It’s not real life, is it, that soap opera.”

Wilfred: “No, you just see different things. Things always go really well, hatseflats. But he has lost one again.”

Albert Verlinde also finds it strange that bad news never makes it into the soap, he said recently at VI: “I think it’s in the contract! From: ‘We only do fun things!’”

Will John quit?

Wilfred finds that soap unbelievable, he said. “You don’t see any of those incidents in that soap. That doesn’t make any sense, does it? It’s quite crazy that all kinds of things happen that everyone can experience, lawsuits, fights, police, and you don’t see anything! You only see hatseflats.”

Back to last night: Johan Derksen expects John to quit Gillis after all. “I cannot imagine that John de Mol will continue with him for another season after this.”

Rock on chair

John is waiting for an excuse to dump Peter in a way that is credible to him, Johan thinks. “Look, he is of course rocking in his chair until there is a ruling that he has a reason to stop, but I don’t think he will continue anyway, because then public opinion will turn against you, right? ?”
