On the car radio I hear how outgoing minister Robbert Dijkgraaf opens the voting week for the Classical Top 400. What is his favorite piece of classical music, they ask. I say to myself: “Say: a work by Johann Sebastian Bach!”. He says: “A work by Johann Sebastian Bach.”
“What job?” I shout: “Say: a part of the St. Matthew Passion!” He says: “Some of the St. Matthew Passion.” “Which part?” they finally ask him. I shout into the car radio: “Say: ‘Aus Liebe’!”
And Mr Dijkgraaf answers: “’Aus Liebe’.”
