The tennis players’ association ATP has canceled the tournament in Tel Aviv planned for November (5th to 11th) due to security concerns following the Hamas terrorist attack in Israel.
As the ATP announced on its website, this decision was made “in close consultation with security experts”. “The safety of the players, employees and fans” was the “top priority”.
“The violence and acts of terrorism we are experiencing in Israel are incomprehensible,” ATP President Andrea Gaudenzi was quoted in the statement: “We strongly condemn any form of terrorism and deplore the loss of innocent lives in this conflict. We hope and pray for peace in the region.”
