The opening ceremony of Nenehatun Ahmet Çalık Sports Complex, organized by the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality and Darıca Municipality, was held with the participation of the Minister of Youth and Sports Osman Aşkın Bak. In addition to Minister Bak, Kocaeli Governor Seddar Yavuz, Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Tahir Büyükakın, Darıca Mayor Muzaffer Bıyık and guests attended the program.

Minister Bak, who made a statement at the ceremony, stated that one of the most important duties of municipalities is to invest in young people and build sports facilities and to keep young people away from bad habits, and said, “Under the leadership of our President, Turkey is truly Europe’s and even the world’s youngest facilities, newest stadiums, indoor sports facilities.” It has such important facilities, especially halls, swimming pools, and athletics tracks. One of the important issues that falls to municipalities is to invest in our youth, build sports facilities and keep young people away from bad habits. As the Ministry of Youth and Sports, one of our most important goals is to combat addiction. In order to keep our children away from substance abuse, drugs, alcohol and bad habits, we should spread sports to the grassroots, support amateur sports clubs, take our children to clubs. Take your children to sports fields, indoor sports halls and swimming pools. We need to keep away from bad habits. As mothers, be sure to talk to your children. Listen to your children to avoid these bad habits. Make time for them and hold their hands and bring them to amateur sports clubs, sports clubs, swimming pools and facilities. “This is very important,” he said.

“WE ARE VERY LUCKY”

Emphasizing that investments in sports are very important, Minister Bak continued his statements as follows:

“An investment of 1 lira in sports returns 10 liras. How does this return? It returns in health, in safety, in social peace. Investment in sports does not go unrewarded. Investments made in this sport for young people, who are our future, are very, very important. We are very lucky.” We have a President who comes from the sports field, knows the facilities from the amateur group very well, and knows Turkish sports very well. Under his leadership, we have built thousands of facilities all over Turkey, and we continue to do so. Turkey has the youngest stadiums in Europe and as a result of this It was announced last Tuesday. Turkey and Italy will organize the 2032 European Football Championship together. Hopefully, these young people will watch the European Football Championship live in those stadiums. Secondly, our Turkish national team won the match 1-0 against Croatia and qualified for the European Football Championship. “Germany has gained a great advantage in participating in the 2024 European Football Championship. As a result of the match against Latvia, which will be held in Konya tomorrow evening, we will hopefully gain a significant advantage in going to the European Football Championship by winning the match.”
