Quentin Tarantino demonstrated his solidarity with Israel with a visit to Israel Defense Forces troops on Friday (October 13). The Hollywood director spends most of the year in Tel Aviv. He is married to the Israeli singer and model Daniella Pick and has their son Leo.
Motivational visits from Hollywood celebrities have a long tradition. Marlene Dietrich visited US soldiers in World War II, Marilyn Monroe visited the G.Is in Vietnam. In the photo, 60-year-old Tarantino positions himself in the middle of the soldiers, wearing sunglasses and a cap, with both thumbs pointed at his heroes – which means: They are fit.
As expected, the comments under the X post are not only positive. “Fuqqin poser… DO NOT trust him!”, writes one person in the best X-style, extremely conspiratorial. Another brings into play Harvey Weinstein, the producer who produced many of Tarantino’s films and is now serving a prison sentence for rape; Of course there is no reference to Tarantino’s visit to the troops.
Others praise the director: “Hope he brought the Wolf with him. ;)” – an allusion to the “Wolf” character from “Pulp Fiction”, played by Harvey Keitel, who solves all problems single-handedly. Another simply writes: “We need more of this energy in the world.”
Quentin Tarantino joins the ranks of many prominent supporters of Israel. Gal Gadot, Chris Pine, Mark Hamill and Jamie Lee Curtis are among 700 Hollywood personalities who have written an open letter expressing their support for Israel amid the ongoing Hamas war. Celebrities such as Amy Schumer and Mayim Bialik also joined the campaign to speak out in favor of condemning the crimes committed by Hamas.
The letter was released on October 12 by the Creative Community For Peace (CCFP), an entertainment industry nonprofit organization. With the letter, the organization calls on all “friends and colleagues in the entertainment industry to speak out forcefully against Hamas and to do everything in their power to pressure the terrorist organization to return the innocent hostages to their families.” In addition, they urged everyone to stop the spread of misinformation.
The names of all signatories can be viewed on the CCFP website. The organization announced this via Instagram and once again called on everyone involved in the entertainment industry to do the same.
