An excerpt from the new trailer also appeared on Instagram. It could be read: “Brian Jones was at the beginning of the Stones. After personal rivalries and a spiral of self-destruction, the world’s most famous rock ‘n’ roll band left behind the genius that started it all.”
In 1962 the Stones appeared for the first time with Brian Jones on guitar, Mick Jagger on vocals, Keith Richards on guitar, Dick Taylor on bass, Ian Stewart on piano and Tony Chapman on drums. On June 8, 1969, the Stones parted ways with founding member Brian Jones. Just a few days later, on July 2, 1969, Jones was found dead in his pool.
As “Magnolia Pictures” describes, the latest documentary about Brian Jones and the Stones wants to explore the phenomenon surrounding the musicians, but especially wants to bring Jones to the fore. You can see insightful interviews with all the main players and, of course, previously unpublished archive material.
