The rumor started circulating as soon as Inter Miami had lost to Cincinnati in the MLS league.
Defeat knew for sure not Leo Messi, With Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba the strengthened Florida team advances to the league playoffs.
Inter have only two league matches left (both by chance Jere Uronen against Charlotte), but the playoffs line has run away even mathematically too far.
Messi himself has suffered from injuries recently. In the Cincinnati match, he entered the field in the second period, but was unable to prevent his team from losing 0–1.
The Miamians’ dream of a championship will therefore move forward at least one year.

MLS has previously loaned its superstars during the winter break. David Beckham played for AC Milan courtesy of his Yankee club Los Angeles Galaxy and Thierry Henry made an emotional return to Arsenal (as a New York Red Bull player).
But at least the current Inter coach, who also coached Messi at Barça Tata Martinodid not warm to the idea of a loan.
