FC Bayern | Thomas Tuchel reveals: “There was no contact” with Julian Nagelsmann

FC Bayern said goodbye to the upcoming international break with a confident 3-0 win. After the home win, Thomas Tuchel was asked again about the national team’s poorly timed trip to the USA and revealed that there was no exchange between him and national coach Julian Nagelsmann.

On Friday, new national coach Julian Nagelsmann nominated his squad for the upcoming trip to the USA. As part of the tour, the German national team first meets the USA (October 14th), before the next tough test awaits the DFB team a few days later with the game against Mexico (October 18th).

The former FC Bayern coach nominated five players from the German record champions for the strenuous journey across the pond. Thomas Tuchel revealed after Munich’s 3-0 home win against SC Freiburg: There was no exchange with his predecessor about the nominees.

FC Bayern: Tuchel and Nagelsmann without contact

“There was no contact, there doesn’t have to be. Julian knows all of our players, he was here himself not too long ago. This time it was without consultation, but that wasn’t a problem at all,” he chatted 50-year-old at the “DAZN” microphone out of the ordinary.

“Normally there is this exchange and it will happen again in the future,” continued Tuchel, who had already expressed criticism of the controversial DFB trip to the USA last week.

“The trip was decided much earlier, including with the clubs from the Bundesliga,” said the Swabian-born pragmatically, who doesn’t hold it against Nagelsmann that he nominated five of his top performers for the DFB squad: “Every national coach takes them The best players now. That’s his right. He’s focused on a good European Championship, so he doesn’t need to take us into account.”
