The French RC Lens and the Turkish Galatasaray tuned the giant bangs in the football Champions League.
Lens defeated Premier League big club Arsenal 2–1. In their home league, the French team is only fourth last.
The home crowd went wild in the 69th minute when the 20-year-old Elye Wah shot the ball with a handsome volley into the back corner. It was the winning goal.
Arsenal received bad news already in the first half when star striker Bukayo Saka was injured and had to leave the field. Next up for the Gunners is a top match against Manchester City, so the break into the lineup is big.
Manchester United, on the other hand, defeated Galatasaray 2–3 at home.
The drama of the match culminated in the 81st minute, when Mauro Icardi chipped in the winning goal after a bad marking error by the British club’s defense.
A little before this, Icardi had managed to try a solution from the penalty spot, when the goalkeeper Andre Onanan a horrendous stray pass forced Casemiro to foul in the penalty area and pick up a second yellow card and sending off.
The spot missed, but the striker made up for the miss a couple of minutes later.
In the top battle of Group C, Real Madrid defeated Napoli 3–2 away. Hot summer signing Jude Bellingham managed to score again.
