Cyclist taken to hospital after collision with police car in Amsterdam

A cyclist was injured early this evening during a collision with a police car on Kamerlingh Onneslaan in Amsterdam East. “The victim was taken to hospital by ambulance with injuries,” said a police spokesperson.

The accident occurred at 6:05 p.m. It is still unclear what caused the collision. “The accident took place between a police service vehicle and a cyclist. Our concern goes out to the victim,” the spokesperson said.

It is unclear how seriously the cyclist was injured. The spokesperson did say that the occupants of the police car were not injured. The police car was severely damaged, as can be seen in the photo. “We are investigating the accident and the service vehicle is also being towed.”
