The responsible district court in Augsburg has opened the self-administration proceedings for the fashion retailer Rübsamen.
The self-administration proceedings for the “three companies of the Rübsamen Group” were opened as scheduled on September 28th, the law firm Pluta Rechtsanwalts GmbH announced on Friday, whose lawyer Georg Stemshorn was appointed by the court as the fashion retailer’s administrator.
Stemshorn had already acted as provisional administrator in the previous preliminary insolvency proceedings under self-administration. His colleagues Michael Pluta and Florian Zistler were appointed as administrators for the other companies in the group. Attorney Paul Abel from the Wellensiek restructuring law firm is supporting the management around Marcus Vorwohlt as general representative in the context of the reorganization.
“We are working on a successor solution in both directions. There may be a solution for the group within the framework of an insolvency plan, i.e. an agreement with the creditors,” said Abel. “Due to an investor process initiated in recent weeks, we also expect to receive binding responses from those investors who have expressed a serious interest in investing in or taking over a company in the course of October.”
Rübsamen deletes ten places
The Rübsamen headquarters in Augsburg and 13 branches in Friedberg, Aichach, Fürstenfeldbruck, Weilheim, Murnau, Landsberg, Dachau and Schrobenhausen are affected by the proceedings. Operations have continued in all branches since the application was submitted.
“We have used the last few weeks and continued to work on the renovation concept to reposition Rübsamen,” said Vorwohlt. “As announced, we are reducing our sales area and, among other things, expanding our service and consulting services at the same time.” Part of this is, among other things, a ‘private shopping’ concept, according to the managing director.
Due to the reduction in space, Rübsamen is letting go of ten employees. In total, around 140 people are employed by the company.
