A good base is the foundation of everything
This may seem like old news, but you can’t ignore this. A good foundation is the foundation of all makeup.
1. Apply a primer to the face
– No make-up is as good or durable if the primer is not in order, Hynynen reminds. It is therefore worth investing in this phase.
Apply the make-up priming product lightly all over. Special attention should be paid to the t-zone, the bridge of the nose or areas with, for example, pimples or enlarged skin pores.
2. Next is the make-up cream
Apply the right shade of foundation to the skin with a brush. Choose a flat, large brush with a thinner brush head. Add foundation a little at a time, layer by layer. Foundation should only be applied to areas that really need coverage. Put as little makeup as possible on the lines, dark circles and the skin around the eyes.
3. Concealer
Apply the concealer under the eye. If you feel the need, it can be added to areas that need additional coverage.

4. Eye priming
The most important thing in eye makeup is the primer, Hynynen reminds. First, remove the skin’s own oil from the eyelid. After that, prime the mobile lid with a concealer. You can use your fingers or a synthetic brush for application.
Apply the primer from the eyebrows all the way to the lash line. Be careful and remember to be calm also in the inner and outer corner of the eye.
5. Make-up is fixed with loose powder
Fix the make-up with a loose powder with light swipes. There is no need to powder the whole face. Leave the areas without powder that do not get too greasy or shiny. Hynynen also reminds you that you should not attach the circles under the eyes at this stage, because eye make-up can still be applied to this area.

6. Shades (and sunscreen)
At this point, it’s time to bring out the bones and other best aspects with the help of shading. In addition to the shading product, you can also add sun powder if you wish. Hynynen points out that by using sun powder, more warmth can be brought into the make-up.
7. Eyebrows
Draw the eyebrows into the desired shape with the help of an eyebrow pencil. Brush the corners.
8. Eye makeup
Hynen usually creates eye makeup according to the color scheme of the outfit.
If you do the entire lid with one and the same color, fade the color towards the lid furrow. Finish with a softer, larger brush that moves over the lid in a hazy manner.

Dark eyeshadow in the crease brings depth and three-dimensionality to the look. The dark doesn’t have to be solid black, it can be a shade of brown, reddish or purple, which looks softer.
Metallic eyeshadow
Hynynen brought light to the eye makeup with a metallic eye shadow. Eye shadows with metallic shades are the best option if you want to make your eyes look bigger.
– The purpose of matte eyeshadow is to create a flattening effect and it is good, for example, in the crease, Hynynen advises.
If the eyes are close together, you can create a flattering effect with metallic eyeshadow. Metallic eyeshadow enlarges and pushes, so you can add it to the corners of your eyes if you want.
– Metallic eyeshadow can sometimes also act as a substitute for concealer, because it brightens and awakens the eye really strongly, Hynynen describes.
Hynynen recommends using metallic shades that are as close to the skin color as possible. Among other things, he would avoid white completely.
Add color to the face
After the eyes, we move on to the stage where professional make-up techniques take the make-up to a new level.
9. Blush
Hynynen prefers cream blushes, as traditional matte blushes usually flatten and take away the height from the cheekbones. Blush can be applied by patting with fingertips or a make-up brush.
Underpainting technique
On top of the blush, Hynynen still lightly applies foundation. This technique is called underpainting and it is very popular among stars. With underpaiting technology, blush as if you could hear through the makeup. This way the look is more natural.

Hynynen also uses this technique so that the end result is as flattering and natural as possible.
10. Mascara
If the goal is a result that looks as natural as possible, and you are not aiming for a babydoll effect, the mascara is applied only to the upper lashes.
Mascara is carefully applied separately to the inner and outer corners and to the center of the lashes. The direction of the gaze is of great importance here. At the same time, sexiness and flirtation are brought into the make-up look, without an overbearing effect.
11. Lip make-up with gradient technique
First, add a light product to the cupid’s bow. After that, you can start lining your lips with a lip liner a degree darker than your own lips. However, do not fill the entire lip with a lip liner, but leave the center of the lips still empty. This creates a lip-enlarging effect.
So it is a gradient technique, i.e. the lips are outlined with a darker lip liner first from the edges. The center of the lips is still left empty. Then this empty spot is filled with a slightly lighter lipstick.

Finishing matters
At the very end, light and freshness are brought to the face, and it is also ensured that the make-up stays in place.
12. Highlighter
Finally, the highlighter, i.e. the light product, is applied to the highest points of the face, i.e. the cheekbones and cupid’s bow. If desired, the light product can also be added to the outer corners and collarbones.
