Events on the sidelines of the official calendar

Today, September 25th, Paris Fashion Week begins, dedicated to the Spring/Summer 2024 season. Officially, 108 fashion brands are on the program, which will present their collections as part of the FHCM Fédération de la Haute Couture et de la Mode (FHCM) calendar. But what happens outside of the official calendar? FashionUnited has put together a shortlist of the most important events.

The new Zomer brand

Paris Fashion Week will also provide the opportunity for a first encounter with the Zomer brand. At its Fashion Week premiere, the label will be presented at the prestigious Dover Street Market Paris showroom and will host a fashion show on September 26th. The brand, designed by duo Danial Aitouganov and Imruh Asha, has launched an original campaign in which children humorously recreate the outfits of iconic figures from the world of fashion and culture, such as journalist Suzy Menkes and designer Rei Kawakubo.

The show of Etam

French lingerie brand Etam will host its next fashion show in Paris on September 26th at 9 p.m. The event will take place in a legendary Parisian venue of the 80s, the Palace nightclub.

The 50th anniversary of “La Bataille de Versailles”

The students of the Istituto Marangoni fashion school will have the opportunity to present their creations at Ungaro at an event celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Versailles Fashion Show. This historic event, which took place in 1973 and is also known as “The Battle of Versailles”, was created by five French couturiers – Marc Bohan for Christian Dior, Pierre Cardin, Hubert de Givenchy, Yves Saint Laurent and Emanuel Ungaro – and five American designers: inside – Bill Blass, Stephen Burrows, Oscar de la Renta, Halston and Anne Klein – organized.

The competition, called Halston Battle of Versailles Design Challenge, is organized by the non-profit foundation With Love Halston and this time includes creations inspired by fashion houses Ungaro and Halston. The winners of the competition will be announced during the event.

The L’Oréal show at the Eiffel Tower

L’Oréal Paris, the official beauty partner of Paris Fashion Week, will hold a fashion show on October 1st. The event will take place under the Eiffel Tower, the ultimate French symbol. Famous personalities such as model Kendall Jenner, actresses Viola Davis, Elle Fanning and Eva Longoria, but also singers Camila Cabello and Yseult will be present. The event will be broadcast live at 9 p.m.

The new showroom The Folklore Connect

The Folklore Connect, an online platform dedicated to wholesale, is coming to Paris this season. For this first visit, the organization is bringing 10 ready-to-wear and accessories designers from Ghana, Nigeria, Ivory Coast, Colombia, New York and London. The meeting follows the New York edition organized by the company for the SS24 season. The showroom will take place on September 26th and 27th in the Palais Royale district.

The young brand J. Simone

Jude Ferrari, a former designer for brands Jacquemus and Zara, will present her brand J.Simone’s show on Monday, September 25th. The young ready-to-wear and luxury accessories label was founded in 2019 and offers colorful pieces that dare the absurd through an aesthetic with a creative spirit.

Chinese brands from the Guangzhou Fashion Incubator

The Chinese organization Guangzhou Fashion Incubator will present a handful of designers from home in Paris. The names that will be there include brands that are still little known on the French market, such as Katty NG, Menshen, DengZhaoPing, Katty NG and MusesEarth. The presentations will take place on September 26th at the Salons de L’Hôtel des Arts et Métiers.

Marie France Van Damme’s showroom

Designer Marie France Van Damme opens a showroom in Paris during Fashion Week. From September 25th to October 3rd 2023 she will present the high-quality holiday clothing from her new SS24 collection at 210 rue de Rivoli. The eponymous brand was launched in 2011 and has since been worn by celebrities such as Beyoncé, Heidi Klum, Olivia Palermo and Angelina Jolie.

The promising label Magda Butrym

Magda Butrym was featured by French Vogue as one of the most promising labels for Spring/Summer 2023. She makes her pieces in Poland and places great value on craftsmanship. The brand will present its Spring/Summer 2024 collection alongside the official calendar from September 29th to October 1st at 64 Boulevard de Courcelles.

Where? 64 Boulevard de Courcelles, 4th floor, 75017 Paris.

Also taking part are Chinese designer Jarel Zhang, who returns to Paris on September 28th, the Sino-French Fashion and Culture Festival, jewelry and ready-to-wear brand Laruicci, shoe brand Roger Vivier, Maje, the SMCP Group brand and the French label Goldschmidt.
