Black wine glass, black bottle. Till Lindemann sits on a leather armchair and celebrates the activation of his new web shop TL.Berlin with a patronizing expression. “A full-bodied drop from the red grape, as an entrée for a long evening together or in the limited version as a special gift in the high-quality gift packaging.” A new attempt by the Rammstein singer to enter the chic celebrity business, like his colleagues from the hip-hop scene.
The Merlot-Cabernet Cuvee from the Palatinate called “Herz” is available for 29.95 euros, an edition limited to 1000 bottles in a classy cardboard slipcase is available for 49.95. The usual sales lyric refers to “handpicked fruit” and “close cooperation” with the renowned winemaker team. What do you write like that…
But the red drop is only the prelude to a much larger offer. After all, the headline says “Adding a Twist to High Fashion and Style”. Lindemann, who recently posed as Karl Lagerfeld for a vegan burger ad, is now launching his own fashion line: “TL.Berlin is fashion for people who are looking for the extraordinary – inspired by the promising depths of Berlin’s subculture , with a very own interpretation of urban lifestyle, a dash of extravagance and a lot of sombre elegance.”
Shown so far are rather conventional hoodies and shirts with the “TL” logo. The elegance falls by the wayside, after all the color mix of black and anthracite can be called “dark”. The incorporated piercings made of metal should obviously become a trademark. Lindemann is thus strengthening his solo activities, which he recently pushed with spectacular performances in Russia and Israel. Nevertheless, the early summer dates are for the stadium tour with Rammstein, which has been postponed several times.
The website does not say whether and when the “TL” offer will be expanded in the future. Fans on various Rammstein forums have already caused mild mockery for this. In particular, the company address in Dubai, which is mentioned in the imprint next to an obviously well-known address in Erfurt, causes amusement. “Yes, that’s right, mailbox company. Will there soon be aristocratic titles and academic degrees that have been purchased?” asks a user at the Rammstein Forum Austria.
