My ex Russell Brand has a fundamental problem with power and dominance

Since Saturday evening (September 16th), the violent headlines surrounding Russell Brand (48) have not stopped. “The Sun”, for example, adds the headline that the UK comedian allegedly used an official BBC transport service to pick up a 16-year-old schoolgirl. There is talk of coercion to perform oral sex, which the venerable “The Times” reports with reference to a statement by the teenager.

Five women are now accusing the ex-husband of US superstar Kate Perry (38) of general abuse of his celebrity position, including rape and sexual assault. Original source is a documentary in which all these allegations are made; flanked by our own research from the rarely squeamish British press.

No wonder that Russell and Perry’s marriage, from 2010 to early 2012, is also being spotlighted again. There is, for example, an interview for a cover story with the fashion magazine “Vogue”, in which Perry also comments on the breakup of her relationship at the time.

“When I got to know him, he initially wanted someone on an equal level, an equal, so to speak. I think a lot of strong men often want someone equal at first. But then they get these personalities and suddenly it’s like: ‘I can’t handle this equality at all!’”

Perry also said at the time that Russell Brand couldn’t handle the fact that the US singer wore pants at all times during her extensive time on tour. And not just on stage. Katy Perry diagnosed an obvious power problem from insider knowledge.

The marriage between the American pop singer (“I Kissed A Girl”) had already made all sorts of headlines at the time. The relationship itself was reportedly ended via text message.

If you take the timeline of the marriage and the abuse allegations, some of the cases occurred during the time of their relationship. It’s not just the British journalists who are now asking themselves: “Did Katy find out something back then?”

After the divorce was finalized, there were hints from Perry in some interviews that she had learned “things” about her ex that she did not want to share publicly at the time.

So the big question is: Will Perry speak out again about this abuse matter (still under investigation by police or prosecutors)?

As is usual in these cases, Russell Brand has positioned his lawyers
