Reports emerged in the winter that Nottingham Forest were open to saying goodbye to ex-Cologne player Emmanuel Dennis – now the time has come. After Photos and videos on social media Basaksehir FK and Nottingham officially announced the transfer on Friday evening.
Dennis is going on loan to the 2020 Turkish champions for a year, who will cover the entire salary of the Nigerian international. The current second-to-last in the table is said to have prevailed against Adana Demirspor in their bid for the attacker, who, however, brought back Mario Balotelli. The loan deal should not contain a purchase option; Dennis still has a contract with the “Tricky Trees” until 2026. The transfer window in Turkey is still open until 11 p.m. this Friday.
In the summer of 2022, after promotion, Dennis was one of 24 additions to Nottingham, which invested 162 million euros in new players – around 15 million euros of which were for the right-footed player who moved from Watford FC to the “Tricky Trees”. Since then he has had two goals and three assists in 25 games; he has not been taken into account at all this season. His market value recently fell three times in a row to 8 million euros – but that makes him the most valuable professional in the Basaksehir squad.
