Coach Fernando Santos of the Polish National Team was dismissed.
68-year-old Santos, who was appointed as the head of the national team by the Federation 9 months ago, was dismissed after the poor results in the European Football Championship qualifying group.
Polish Football Federation President Cezary Kulesza said in his statement, “I would like to thank coach Santos for working with our national team and wish him good luck in his future sports career.”
Poland had 2 wins and 3 losses in 5 matches in Group E; Albania ranks 4th with 6 points, after the Czech Republic and Moldova.
Santos, who won the 2016 European Football Championship with Portugal, resigned after his team was eliminated by Morocco in the quarter-finals of the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
