Tori Amos Announces Graphic Novel Little Earthquakes

Tori Amos’ debut album Little Earthquakes celebrated its 30th anniversary earlier this year. To mark the occasion, there will now be a graphic novel with the same title.

The comic, published jointly with the publisher Z2, consists of 24 stories that are said to be inspired by the songs on the album. Writers like Neil Gaiman (“Starwalker”, “Coraline”) or Margaret Atwood (“The Handmaid’s Report”) are involved in the book.

Additional stories for the book are provided by Leah Moore, Colleen Doran, Derek McCulloch, Lar deSouza, Annie Zaleski, Marc Andreyko, Cat Mihos, Neil Kleid and Alison Sampson. In addition to the stories, the book also features artwork contributed by Bilquis Evely, David Mack, and others.

“Having some of the most creative graphic artists interpret the songs on ‘Little Earthquake’s is a real honor,” Amos said in a statement. “I enjoyed working with Rantz on Comic Book Tattoo so much that when he contacted me to put something together for the 30th anniversary, I didn’t hesitate.”

The graphic novel is slated to hit stores in September. In addition, limited deluxe and platinum editions are planned, which will contain a collection of B-sides from the “Little Earthquakes” album and some art prints.

Amos, who actually wanted to come to Germany for four concerts this year, had to cancel them due to the corona restrictions. There are no new dates yet.
