Two people died in a serious accident in Lunteren on Friday evening. A van left the road and crashed into a tree. A third passenger was seriously injured and taken to hospital
Further research must reveal what exactly was the cause of the accident in the Gelderland village. One of the two fatalities was the driver.
The fire brigade was deployed with several vehicles to free the occupants from the vehicle. At least two of the three occupants were reportedly trapped in the accident and had to be cut from the vehicle by the fire brigade.
Trauma helicopters were called in from Amsterdam and Nijmegen for support. The road is completely closed due to the accident and trace investigation.
