A motorist was killed in an accident on the A59 near Waspik on Wednesday morning. The victim’s car collided with the back of a truck and partially ended up under the truck. The A59 will be closed until three o’clock on Wednesday afternoon.
The accident happened around ten o’clock in front of the Hooipolder junction. Emergency services turned out en masse, but could no longer do anything for the victim. She died at the scene of the accident.
Police are investigating how the accident happened.
The road is closed in the direction of Zierikzee. Until three o’clock this afternoon, traffic will be diverted from the Empel junction via the A2, A65 and A58.
