Bundesliga: Bayer Leverkusen gives Borussia Mönchengladbach no chance

Sure thing, we had no chance, happened. The upheaval is really happening now, in the last 2 years people have only talked about it without it actually having taken place. We have a really young team, a few injuries (doesn’t really matter) and we have to get by and get used to something. I found our performance in Augsburg more worrying (rate of tackles, getting into tackles too late, possession of the ball, giving opponents too much space for almost 90 minutes, etc.) and of course 4 goals conceded there.

I was expecting a game like that today, of course you always have the small hope that you will be pleasantly surprised or that something is not going well at Leverkusen, but they did it well today and ripped it off and after the 3-0 win at least downshifted and managed it relaxed.

The problem area is still the defensive game. Neuhaus doesn’t work on the 6, you should try Reitz here, together with Weigl, until Kramer/Koné are back. IV/AV still have to step up a lot, but there are still some new players and very young players. It doesn’t help if Neuhaus is practically zero help in the games on the 6. You can see how important this position is when there is a gap here.

Also found the decision with Ngoumou & Honorat on the same page unfortunate today. They felt (especially in HZ1) on each other’s toes more than anything else. Often level, unclear how to act, Ngoumou completely robbed of his pace. Otherwise, as on match day 1, you sometimes made it too easy for the opponent, too much distance, necessary duels were missing (0:3 and the behavior of Neuhaus and no, I don’t just hit him today, just like we didn’t in game 1 net had cost the game).

Leverkusen strong, tough, really strong in terms of play, no chance for us.
