A week after the World Athletics Championships in Budapest, several world-class discus throwers are coming to Berlin.
At the Istaf in the Olympic Stadium on September 3, Olympic champion and vice world champion Valarie Allman (USA) and World Cup fourth-placed Jorinde van Klinken (Netherlands) will compete, as the organizers announced on Wednesday.
At the meeting they meet the top German throwers: Olympic silver medalist Kristin Pudenz (SC Potsdam), Shanice Craft (SV Halle), Marike Steinacker (TSV Bayer 04 Leverkusen) and Julia Harting (SC Neubrandenburg).
A total of 16 disciplines are on the program on the first Sunday in September. Competitions are planned over 100 metres, 400 metres, 5000 metres, 100 meters hurdles, long jump and discus throw for women as well as 200 metres, 400 metres, 1500 metres, 110 meters hurdles, 400 metres, 400 meters hurdles, high jump, pole vault, javelin throw, Men’s Para Sprint and Para Shot Put.
