Felix Klaus remains loyal to Fortuna Düsseldorf. The 30-year-old winger extended his contract, which originally expired in 2024, on Wednesday. The second division club did not say until when the new working paper will apply. After goalkeeper Florian Kastenmeier, the right winger is the second regular at F95, who has continued to bond with the club in recent days.
“Felix is extremely important to our squad. With his fast pace and skill in one-on-one situations, he’s a difference player in the league. He has already proven this to us several times. We’re happy to be working with Felix beyond the end of the season,” explained Klaus Allofs, Board Member for Sport & Communication.
Klaus, who first came to Düsseldorf on loan from Wolfsburg in January 2021 before being committed six months later for 1.1 million euros, said: “We as a family have had Fortuna as a club and Düsseldorf as a city in recent years closed in our hearts. I feel extremely comfortable within the team, I like the way we play football and I feel that something is developing here. Therefore, the contract extension was not a difficult decision for me. I’m looking forward to the future here at the club and will do my best to help achieve our sporting goals.” With six goals and seven assists, he was the third-best Fortuna scorer in the second division last season.
