On Saturday night, a teenager in Köpenick suffered serious injuries after falling from a tram.

According to the police, a 15-year-old climbed onto the rear of a tram around 1:15 a.m. on Wendenschloßstraße and held on there. After driving about 500 meters, he lost his footing, fell onto the roadway and hit a catenary mast next to the roadway.

The 15-year-old suffered chest injuries and a pelvic fracture as a result of the fall. Paramedics took the seriously injured to a hospital for treatment.

The tram driver, who presumably did not notice the accident, continued his journey to the Köpenick depot and ended his service there.

The responsible police department took over the further investigations into the traffic accident.
