During an interview, the director did not give a clear answer and, above all, left room for interpretation.
Could Christopher Nolan soon be taking on a film for the “Star Wars” universe? The director and screenwriter did not give a clear answer to this during an interview. His statement still left room for speculation.
The Briton with a US passport travels a lot to promote his summer blockbuster “Oppenheimer”. For the YouTube channel “HugoDécrypte”, Nolan got involved in a small interview game: moderator Hugo gave Nolan a topic, the director had to answer “Yes”, “No” or “Next” as quickly as possible. When superhero movies came up as a topic, there was an unequivocal “no” from Nolan. He immediately denied any work on a series. When asked if he’d like to make a Star Wars movie, the filmmaker hesitated before saying “next.”
There is certainly more to be interpreted in than out of this statement. Still, fans may have hope that Nolan will eventually take on a space adventure about Jedi and the Empire. After all, we’ve known since Interstellar that he’s also an expert on space.

However, it can be completely ruled out that there will be a new “Batman” film by Nolan. Actor Christian Bale had stated his willingness to slip into the Dark Knight’s costume again, but only if the director were involved again.
Christopher Nolan’s “Oppenheimer” will be in German cinemas from July 20th. In addition to Cillian Murphy (“Peaky Blinders”) and Florence Pugh (“Black Widow”), Matthias Schweighöfer can be seen as Werner Heisenberg in the biographical thriller.
