RB Leipzig loan PSG talent Simons

Bundesliga club RB Leipzig has loaned the next top talent for the coming season. Dutch international Xavi Simons is moving from French champions Paris St. Germain to Leipzig for a year, the club announced on Wednesday.

Simons only moved back to Paris from PSV Eindhoven this summer.

“In his position in attacking midfield, he is one of the best players in European football for his age group and has everything to cause a sensation with his individual class in the Bundesliga,” said managing director Max Eberl.

RB Leipzig “collects” top talent

Simons is “a perfect addition to our squad and our way of playing football, and overall we have a very good mix of different types of players on offense.”

According to media reports, the German cup winner should not have a purchase option for the 20-year-old. Leipzig had previously loaned the Portuguese Fabio Carvalho (20) for a year and without an option to buy.

The club also signed central defender El Chadaille Bitshiabu, who received a contract until 2028. On Friday, Leipzig announced the record transfer of Belgian Lois Openda (around 40 million euros).
