Four men were arrested in Tholen in Zeeland on Wednesday evening because they allegedly robbed a jeweler in Halsteren earlier in the day. That has been announced by the police. During the armed robbery, masked men smashed display cases and took jewelery with them. They fired into the air outside in the street.
The men were arrested in a caravan by an arrest team and come from Klundert (20), Rotterdam (24) and Wolphaartsdijk (25). The place of residence of the fourth suspect (23) is not known. They’re still stuck.
Three men, armed with guns and an ax, entered the jewelry store around two o’clock in the afternoon and destroyed some of the display cases. They snatched jewelry and ran outside. They fired into the air in the street. No one was injured in the process. Then they got into a black Renault, in which a fourth perpetrator was behind the wheel.
Getaway car
An hour after the robbery, someone saw the empty getaway car in a parking lot in Lepelstraat. The car, like the license plates, turned out to be stolen. The men at this place probably switched to another car.
The police continued the manhunt and arrested the men in the evening in Tholen, Zeeland.
