The wedding of Reece Wiench and Deyton Truitt from Colorado State came about in five days, as Truitt would be deployed by the military and Wiench would join him after her training. So some haste was needed. So Stephen Wiench, the father of the bride, came up with an “easier and cheaper” solution, writes the New York Post .
Wiench called in the popular ChatGPT to lead the wedding. At first, the chatbot, supported by artificial intelligence, was not eager to take on the honorable task. For example, the bot pointed to the fact that it has no body and therefore could not attend the wedding itself. However, the loving couple stood their ground and gave ChatGPT personal information that could be used during the ceremony.
Historic moment
All’s well that ends well: the chatbot still became the wedding official and addressed the newlyweds and the guests. “During the ceremony, I will express the significance of this historic moment and the limitless possibilities that arise when love and technology intersect,” ChatGPT opened the speech.
Wiench and Truitt did write their vows themselves and covered a speaker with a mask, making it look like someone was speaking. Either way, they were thrilled with how their wedding went off without a hitch with the help of artificial intelligence. “ChatGPT took something personal for people like a wedding and enhanced it,” said the overjoyed bride.
