After the summer, the new record store My Cup of Vinyl will open in the Dorpsstraat with second-hand LPs.
From hobby to own business
Her house and storage is now filled with about 6,000 second-hand vinyl records that will soon go to her store. “It started with a hobby,” says Cemile Tastekin. “Together with my partner, we regularly visit second-hand fairs and other record stores. We both love rummaging through the record bins. But that’s always in other cities. With every business I often think: how should I organize it? Then the idea arose to start a business in Zoetermeer.”
Vinyl and vintage
Cemile gets to work herself with a new counter and record trays. “In the beginning I will only sell second-hand records. I need to see if it will run first. After that I can possibly expand the collection with new vinyl. In addition, I want to sell vintage items in my business. There will be a small coffee corner where I will serve a cup of coffee for customers.”

Buy plates
Not only the records in her house and in storage will soon be for sale in the store, Cemile will also buy records from customers. “I first check whether I can sell the records and what the market value is. I want to have a varied selection in my store. I also scour Marktplaats for special items.” In addition to sales, customers can also have their records cleaned.”
Nice on the bike
One of Cemile’s wishes is that she can go to work by bike and only do things that she likes. “I look forward to a simple way of life: selling records and vintage while making a cup of coffee for customers.” That is why the Nijmegen native calls on all Zoetermeer residents: “Come and have a nice schuume in the bakke!”
