A prisoner of the PI in Vught stabbed a fellow prisoner with a homemade weapon in May. The victim was then taken to hospital for examination and treatment. This is evident from an overview of the Custodial Institutions Agency (DJI).
The DJI publishes a list every month with things that have happened in the various prisons throughout the country. The detainee in Vught stabbed a fellow prisoner with a stabbing weapon on May 5. The perpetrator has been placed in a punishment cell.
Nothing is known about the nature of any injuries to the victim. It is also unclear how the victim is doing now.
Wrong more often
It is not the first time that things have gone wrong at the Vught PI. Last December, three employees at the Penitentiary Psychiatric Center (PPC) were taken hostage by Corné H. He was staying in Vught because he had taken employees of a café in Ede hostage a year earlier.
Last month, a fire broke out in a laundry room at the regular prison. 132 detainees had to be evacuated. They were then taken to other prisons in the country.
Two weeks ago it was also announced that murder suspect Muhammed S. could have read the file of Saïd R., an important accomplice of Ridouan Taghi. While preparing his criminal case, S. received a laptop from the prison with a file on it that was not about him.
