‘RTL 4 and SBS 6 are fighting over her’

Tineke Schouten’s jubilee performance, Dubbel, is a ratings hit. The broadcast gave RTL 4 gold last night at half past eight. “Every time it’s a fight with SBS 6.”

Tineke Schouten has been good for good viewing figures for years. Her jubilee performance Dubbel also achieved good viewing figures last night: with 939 thousand viewers (23 percent market share), she took the lead at half past eight in the evening. Seen throughout prime time, only De Avondetappe, which started at half past nine, managed to fascinate more viewers, namely 976 thousand.

Pulling on Tineke

As a former broadcaster boss of SBS 6, Tina Nijkamp knows that the channel always wants to have the rights to Tineke’s performances and that it is always a battle with RTL 4.

She writes on her analysis channel: “RTL 4 and SBS 6 have always been fighting, ever since the beginning of this century, to be allowed to broadcast Tineke’s recordings. She always scores top ratings and it can be used anywhere, just like Ik Vertrek, for example. In recent years, RTL 4 won this bidding war.”

Top score

And that also gave RTL 4 a ‘top score’ last night, says Tina. “This week, before the start of B&B Vol Liefde next week, RTL 4 had two 2 time slots available and instead of reruns, it chose to broadcast this anniversary show on Wednesdays and Thursdays. Top choice, because resounding figures.”

And what about SBS 6? He chose to schedule a last minute rerun of the new dating show Ik Ga Op Reis En Take Mee. That got off to a dramatic start last Sunday and the rerun also did poorly yesterday with only 266 thousand extra viewers.

Downer for Helene

That bad score means that Hélène Hendriks then collapses considerably with her talk show De Oranjezomer. After the 713 and 733 thousand viewers for the first two episodes, this time it reaches 587 thousand viewers (14 percent), which is not enough for a place in the top 15 viewing figure.

Competitors Op1 and Renze are in there with 752 thousand and 618 thousand viewers respectively.
