Given the increasing importance that furry friends have in our lives, accompanying Fido to get a massage could in fact become a widespread practice, to help him relax, prepare him for a demanding appointment with the vet or for a trip. Dog massager, the first Italian school to become one and the benefits

To form this new species of professional cuddler is the Dog Massage Academy: the first school in Italy of manual techniques and massages for dogs. The training course is made up of 9 face-to-face practical lessons modules (in the province of Milan during the weekend), 7 midweek evening online lessons and 6 registered online lessons.

To hold the lessons, together with the founders of the Dog Massage Academy Giada Balto and Debora Severo, Silvia Santi and Chiara Dissegna, veterinarians specialized in Integrated Medicine, and Monica Manari, a behavioral veterinary doctor. The academic path will begin on October 7 and will conclude, with a final exam, afterwards one year.

But, as Severo explains, up to a certain point: «Osteopathy is an extremely fascinating discipline that includes a complete approach and a broad vision of the concept of well-being. However, among the osteopathic techniques, we have excluded from our training project the more direct and structural ones, such as i thrust (ie those techniques that make the joints “crack”, ed) that the dog, unlike the human, would not welcome with the same knowledge of the facts. Hence the idea of ​​talking only about ‘Dog Massage’».

Registration is open until 4 September and no veterinary or dog training is required.
