“No, she’s not nice”

Emma Wortelboer, with her attitude and statements, arouses a lot of annoyance with Tim Klijn, the new Edwin Evers on Radio 538. “No, I don’t like her. A real Amsterdam girl.”

As an importer from Amsterdam – she actually comes from Deventer – Emma Wortelboer looks a bit down on the province. She recently even called Groningen a ‘c*t province’ on television. And that has caused much annoyance to the people; for example, Gert Jakobs thinks she is a ‘loser’ and the media editors of the AD even want to boycott her.

‘I do not like her’

Rick Romijn has also had it a bit with this lady, says the sidekick in the morning show of Radio 538. “I think she is so tired … I think she is a bit …”

Newsreader Florentien van der Meulen denounces Emma’s Groningen statements. “How childish.”

Tim Klijn, the new Edwin Evers, then: “Yes, a bit lame.”

Rick: “Do you like her?”

Tim: “No. No, I don’t like her.”

Girl from Amsterdam

Rick: “Does she annoy you or…”

Tim: “Well, this is one of those girls from Amsterdam who has no idea that there is plenty to do outside the Ring. I always have that feeling with her, but I don’t know. I don’t know her personally.”

Rick: “Could you name two of her programs, for example?”

Tim: “No, no idea.”

Florentien: “No, not at all.”

Sidekick Niels van Baarlen: “Isn’t she doing that Spraying & Swallowing? And I think she’s doing some of that kid shit on Zapp.”

Insanely fun

Rick also finds Emma’s criticism of Groningen completely unfounded. “I come to Groningen very often with the 538 drive-in show and I would rather go to Groningen ten times than to Amsterdam once.”

Tim: “Groningen is really great fun.”

Rick: “It’s fantastic.”

Tim: “There are certainly places where the wind blows more often than in other places and where it is a bit flatter, but that is only a very small part of the province.”

‘You have the space’

Rick: “You got the space there, man. And people are nice.”

Tim: “The city of Groningen is also great. Awesome.”

Florentien: “Do you know how many tourists come here to see that the Netherlands is flat?”

Tim himself was born in Wormerveer. He currently lives in Nijkerk.
