The second season of Extreme E opened today with the shakedown in Neom, Saudi Arabia, the championship reserved for electric 4x4s that from next year could be joined by their hydrogen sisters. Just today, not surprisingly in Arabia, Alejandro Agag, patron of Formula E and Extreme E, announced the birth of a new car and a new championship reserved for hydrogen fueling: the Extreme H. The Odyssey 21, on the other hand, remains the ‘the only car for this year too, the same for all the teams, at the center of Extreme E and there will be ten crews at the start in this new season which saw all nine of 2021 reconfirmed with the addition of the McLaren which debuts today on the sands, but above all on the stones and scree, of Neom. Driver swaps, new names and new race rules are the big news of this 2022 for a discipline that in terms of entertainment and adrenaline has nothing to envy to much more noble specialties.
