Maayke Tjin A-Lim ran well below the limit for the 2024 Olympic Games in the Swiss La Chaux-de-Fonds. The athlete from Hoorn raced the 100-meter hurdles to a time of 12.66 seconds.
Only the South African Marione Fourie (12.55) was faster than Tjin A-Lim and took the gold in Switzerland. The 25-year-old Tjin A-Lim was eleven hundredths faster than the Olympic limit of 12.77 seconds with her time. The time of the Hoornse also meant an improvement of her personal best and qualification for the World Cup later this summer in Budapest.
Moreover, Tjin A-Lim can currently call himself the fastest Dutch in the 100 meter hurdles. The best Dutch time to date belonged to Nadine Visser. Earlier this year, the athlete from Hoogkarspel clocked 12.71 seconds as the best time.
