Professional golfer Yannick Paul has made a promising start to the British Masters. The 29-year-old from Viernheim stayed in the first round on the par 72 course with a 68, four shots below the course standard and took third place together with four other participants.
Former world number one Justin Rose of England took the lead after 18 holes with a 65, followed by his Ryder Cup team-mate Jamie Donaldson of Wales (66) in the DP World Tour tournament. The 42-year-old Rose had won the British Masters in 2002.
On the “The Belfry” course, Nick Bachem (Cologne/69 strokes) also impressed in eighth place, Maximilian Kieffer (Düsseldorf/70) is 19th.
