“My house was falling apart. I found out in the press that I had been cheated on while my father was in intensive care. I thought I would not survive this much. The man I loved most in my life, my father, was giving up when I needed it most: I couldn’t talk to him or get much needed advice from my best friend.His recovery has been very hard and slow, but he is a wonderful man and an important character to everyone able to always surprise us with his strength. He survived COVID, two accidents, one pneumonia, five surgeries. All this at 91 and in less than six months. My father is the greatest example of resilience, and my mother he is by his side day and night. Both have been the reflection of that dream that I have not been able to realize, but which I hope will be a model for my children of love, patience in relationships, absolute dedication and a great desire to live”concluded Shakira referring to the dream of love destroyed with the separation from Piqué.
