The DFB sports director traveled to Batumi (Georgia) especially for the second group game of our U21 national team against the Czech Republic (1:2). And must have experienced a terrible déjà vu for over an hour. With the A-Elf and national coach Hansi Flick (58), everything is in ruins after their last three games.
It’s been just as bad for our U21s for a long time – scary scary football to get used to. Only the fighting spirit is right.
The game against the Czechs is also game 1 after the racism scandal!
Youssoufa Moukoko (18/BVB) and Jessic Ngankam (22/Hertha) were racially insulted in the worst possible way after Germany’s opening game against Israel (1-1) at the U21 European Championships in Georgia and Romania (June 21 to July 8). different social networks – because they each missed a penalty …
The big question – how would the two, how would the German team, react and perform in the second group game against the Czech Republic? At least Moukoko not at all…
The most valuable German player (market value according to transfermarkt.de 30 million euros) has to pass with muscular problems.
Ngankam was there for him on the pitch from the start – and is apparently still under the influence of the racism scandal, the Berliner seems like a foreign body and is substituted at half-time.
About the game: Our U21 disappointed over long distances. The big problem, as in the opening game against Israel (1-1): The miserable exploitation of chances.
► Angelo Stiller (22 / Hoffenheim) fails with a free kick from 20 meters narrowly at Czech goalkeeper Jaros (14th).
► In the 20th minute, Kevin Schade (21 / Brentford) shot a mega opportunity completely free-standing.
► After his own corner (!) Adam Karabec (19/Sparta Prague) counters our U21s. His pass landed on Vaclav Sejk (21), who was completely free and scored easily to make it 1-0 (33rd minute).
► In the 70th minute then the redeeming Stiller goal! Schalke’s Henning Matriciani (23) goes through to Hoffenheim. The playmaker puts the ball on his left foot and scores handsomely to equalize.
► But Stiller is not enough. Shortly before the end, Vitik scores to make it 2-1. Incomprehensible!
Now Germany needs a football miracle in the last group game Wednesday (6 p.m. / Sat.1) against the English, who have already qualified for the knockout stage. To progress, coach Toni Di Salvo’s team must win against England, while Israel must win against the Czech Republic in the parallel game.
BUT: Israel is not allowed to score two more goals in a win than Germany in a win against England. Phew…
