Justin Kluivert makes a historic change

Ex-Leipziger Justin Kluivert is moving from Europa League finalist AS Roma to AFC Bournemouth in the English Premier League and is thus entering a very exclusive circle.

The 24-year-old Dutch striker, for whom Bournemouth paid around €11m, becomes only the fourth player to have played in all five major European leagues.

Justin Kluivert, son of former world-class striker Patrick Kluivert, had played 19 Bundesliga games (three goals) for RB Leipzig in the 2020/21 Bundesliga season as a Roma loan from Italy’s Serie A. He also played for OGC Nice in France’s Ligue 1 and in Spain for Valencia FC.

Before Kluivert, only three players had played in all five top leagues: the Romanian Florin Raducioiu (active in the Bundesliga with VfB Stuttgart), the Dane Christian Poulsen (Schalke 04) and the Montenegrin Stevan Jovetic (Hertha BSC).
