“Junior is a versatile offensive player who can play centrally but also in the hanging position. He has an intense style of play, a good move to goal and is at the service of the team,” commented board member Jochen Saier on the transfer and added: “As with all our young players, he still has real development potential. We want to make full use of this by working together. With his attitude and the way we work, we are optimistic about the future. We are very pleased.”

Adamu himself said: “SC Freiburg has a very good reputation in Austria, which was confirmed in my discussions with those responsible and people who know the club well. I want to get even better and assert myself in the German Bundesliga. Freiburg is the right place for that.”

Adamu leaves his training club Salzburg after 84 professional appearances, in which he scored 23 goals and eleven assists. In the past season he increased his market value to 8 million euros. After Benjamin Sesko and Nicolas Seiwald (both future for Leipzig), the attacker is now the third player to move from Salzburg to the Bundesliga this summer.
