Formula E makes its debut in the mega-metropolis

Formula E is stopping in Tokyo for the first time in its anniversary season. The Japanese metropolis is one of 13 stations in 2024, in the tenth year of the electric racing series there should be 17 rounds. This emerges from the provisional calendar published on Tuesday by Formula E and the World Automobile Association FIA.

The new season starts again on January 13th in Mexico City. Three venues in the provisional calendar have not yet been determined. In Berlin on 11./12. May driven, the final will take place on 20./21. held in London in July.

The run in Tokyo is scheduled for March 30th. The 22 drivers from 11 teams will compete for championship points with their Gen3 race cars on the streets around the Tokyo Big Sight convention center on the waterfront of Tokyo Bay.

“The race will not only support the spread of zero-emission vehicles, but also provide a wonderful opportunity to strengthen Tokyo’s international presence,” said Tokyo Prefectural Governor Yuriko Koike.
