Employees of the Imperial Tobacco tobacco factory in Joure will start a three-day strike on Tuesday. An ultimatum from the unions to the company failed on Monday afternoon, reports CNV.
About 270 people work at Imperial Tobacco in Joure. According to CNV, the company offers a salary increase of 7 percent plus a one-off gross payment of 600 euros for a one-year collective agreement. “Too little, according to the union members. CNV demands a wage increase of more than 13 percent. The union also wants a better travel allowance, better agreements about the shift allowance and more prospects for temporary workers.
