A great performance by Tallon Grecour. The tennis player from Nieuw-Vennep defeated Australian Jordan Thompson in Rosmalen in three sets: 6-7, 7-6, 6-3.
With the win in Rosmalen, Tallon Grepes follows in the footsteps of Richard Krajicek, Sjeng Schalken and Tim van Rijthoven. They have previously won the title on the Brabant grass. Due to this achievement, the current number 38 climbs considerably in the world ranking. Tomorrow, the Greek track will be the best Dutchman and he will take 29th place. The highest ranking of the Greek track was April last year with the 34th position.
Slippery
The match was actually supposed to start at 2.30 pm on the center court in Rosmalen, but because of the rain the first ball only flew over the net at six o’clock. Partly due to the slippery surface, the Greek track started the match moderately. He lost the first set via a tiebreak. Fortunately, things went better after that and the Nieuw-Venneper fought back in the match against the 29-year-old Australian.

In the second set, the Greek track won the tiebreak this time. And in the third it suddenly went quite smoothly for the tennis player who won the ATP tournament in Pune, India, earlier this year. Opponent Thompson looked more tired and Greek track gained more self-confidence as a result. With the win in Rosmalen, the 26-year-old tennis player from Nieuw-Vennep won his second ATP tournament.
