Tennis player Tallon Greek track from Nieuw-Vennep has qualified for the semi-finals of the grass tournament in Rosmalen for the first time in his career. The Greek track was too strong in three sets for Alex de Minaur from Australia, who was seeded number four.
The first set still went to De Minaur with 4-6. Then things started to turn for the Greek track and he took the second set 6-3. It was exciting in the third set, but the North Hollander broke the Australian early in the set. He kept that break and in a love game and took the third set 6-4.
Tomorrow the number 38 in the world will play the semi-final. He takes on Emil Ruusuvuori from Finland or Jannik Sinner from Italy.
Highest ranked Dutchman
Greek track will replace Botic van de Zandschulp as the highest ranked tennis player in the Netherlands from next week. The North Hollander is currently the number 38 in the world. Van de Zandschulp is now 34th, but he will lose his points from the Queen’s grass tournament on Monday. He was there in the semifinals last year.
