Carl Hoefkens is the new coach of Standard

“We are very pleased with the recruitment of Carl Hoefkens, who immediately won us over with his vision of football and his enthusiasm to join our club,” says football director Fergal Harkin on the club website. “We are convinced that he is the right person to continue our work and achieve the goals we have set for the future.”

It will be only the second job as head coach for Hoefkens. From May to December 2022 he was the coach of Club Brugge, where he previously worked as a youth coach and assistant. As a player he defended the colors of Lierse, Lommel, Westerlo, Germinal Beerschot, Stoke City, West Bromwich Albion, Club Brugge and KV Oostende.
