U19 captain

Bundesliga promoted 1. FC Heidenheim is recruiting a promising talent from their own youth into the squad of the first team: midfielder Luka Janes has received a professional contract with the second division champions of the past season, which runs until 2025.

The right-footed player was U19 captain last season and scored two goals in 22 competitive games. “Luka impressed us a lot last season. He played with unbelievable consistency and a sovereignty that was impressive for his age. He made a significant contribution to staying up in the U19 Bundesliga South/Southwest,” explained Robert Strauss, Head of Sports, and added: “It’s also part of our philosophy to give young players from our ‘Hartmann Youth Training Center’ the chance to prove themselves in the to prove professional football. We hope the same with Luka.”

Janes added: “It’s a childhood dream come true for me to be part of the professional squad of a Bundesliga team. It’s an incredible opportunity for me, but of course I’m only at the beginning. I will give everything in training and of course I try to recommend myself for further tasks.”
