Reggina, Saladini responds to Minister Abodi: “Speak without knowing”

Press release from the Calabrian club with Saladini’s words

“The Reggina case goes exactly in the opposite direction of fair competition: the club has used a state law that does not comply with the rules of the sporting system and in this case of football”. This was stated by the minister of sport and young people Andrea Abodi regarding the Reggina case which took advantage of the possibility of deferring payments by exploiting an arrangement granted by the bankruptcy court. “It is no coincidence – added Abodi – that someone went to Lega Pro or was not admitted to the playoffs having paid everything and everyone and not having bought players, while Reggina made purchases and got away with 5 % of tax debts. It is a provision that I respect but do not agree with. We are outside the perimeter I meant when I spoke of fair competition, this is not”.

Reggina spreads this official note from the owner Felice Saladini. “I am surprised by Minister Abodi’s statements. I believe that he does not have all the information on the particular case of the Reggina 1914 Company. We are ready to explain our position to him too, just as we have reported it to all the federal sports bodies and to the judicial authority, also assuming responsibilities and penalties ” .
